Fearless MMA is a very well esteemed MMA gym operating out of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. Only a 15 minute walk from Snow Hill Station, Fearless MMA has had a great presence on the national MMA scene, and has propelled some fighters onto the world stage. The most well known fighters that train at Fearless MMA are Leon Edwards, and Jake Hadley.

Fearless MMA was established in 2009 by brothers Kaish and Kamby Banger. Kaish and Kamby were heavily influence by their father, a former wrestler in India. Fearless strive to bring the very best MMA training & facilities to people of all ages and gender.

I met both Kaish and Kamby and they were very friendly people, and were incredibly knowledgeable about their wrestling.

Best Muay Thai Gyms in Birmingham

K-Star Muay Thai

Muay Thai is taught at both Fearless MMA and Renegade MMA. Otherwise, the specialist Muay Thai gyms in Birmingham are dominated by the K-Star brand. K-Star Muay Thai is a Muay Thai franchise spread across the West Midlands, they are the definitive Muay Thai experience in Birmingham, and have a multitude of fighters on the national scene, and provide training for fighters in the pro leagues.

You can find four K-Star Muay Thai gyms in Birmingham:

  • K-Star Thai Boxing Academy – Quinton
  • K-Star Muay Thai Academy – Solihull
  • K-Star Thai Boxing Academy – Birmingham City Center
  • K-Star Legacy – Oldbury

All of these gyms have elite pedigree Muay Thai practitioners coaching inside, but I’m going to touch on the Quinton and City Center branches, since I have trained at both.

What’s good about K-Star Muay Thai:
  • At the Quinton branch, the head coach Damien Trainor is a former world champion with a wealth of Muay Thai knowledge and elite striking skills
  • Fantastic Facilities
  • Decent price for the amount of sessions you get
  • Welcoming to newcomers
What’s not so good about K-Star Muay Thai
  • Expect to be treated more like a customer than a student
  • Contacting the gym isn’t an easy process

Whilst K-Star has its pitfalls, you can still expect to receive the best MT training in the West Midlands. Find them below:

The head coach Alex Vorfi is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating to new students. He’s fought in actual competition so you know you’re getting the correct teachings. The gym offers a free week trial to any new students, and the rates are extremely good for value.

This gym has really impressed me. Although the gym pushes you to your limits in order to better yourself, it’s never cruel. The head coach pays attention on an individual scale, and is very welcoming to those on all levels.
